Liposuction FAQ
How much fat can be removed in the arms?
The amount of fat that can be removed from the arms really depends on each individual patient. At your exam, if the arms are full but there is no loose skin, then more fat can be taken out than from a patient with loose and hanging skin. There are some procedures such as BodyTite and Smartlipo which we can also use to help promote skin tightening prior to the liposuction portion of the procedure. It's best to schedule a consultation for an examination and to review your options.
Which areas could/should be addressed for a better shape during liposuction of the legs?
There are many areas that patients like to target for liposuction. During your consultation we formulate a plan based on your trouble areas as well and expected recovery. Many patients come in asking for one area but end up asking for several areas by the time surgery day arrives. It's important to balance treatment areas, surgical time, expected outcome and planned recovery time. Many popular combinations are the abdomen and lower back, the inner and outer thighs (+/- knees), neck and arms. In many cases patients want to augment other areas of their body with the fat such as their breasts or buttocks (BBL). This is easily performed at the same time as the liposuction. It's best to schedule a consultation so we can review all of your questions and concerns and formulate a surgical plan customized to your body.
What is the criteria for arm/armpit lipo?
Arm lipo can be an effective treatment for thick arms. However, if there is considerable loose skin, then a brachioplasty may be a better option. If you are unsure if you are a good candidate, you can post a picture here or email a picture to our office. Before any surgery it is best to have an in-person consultation to review your options and make sure that you are a good candidate.
