Marilyn Monroe had plastic surgery? According to new reports, the answer is yes! The blonde bombshell, who has been revered for her curves for decades, apparently had plastic surgery in her pre-fame days to correct a nose imperfection as well as underwent chin augmentation. But that’s not all, her surgery results and X-rays are going on sale at auction.

Yep, there you have it; the results are in and Marilyn Monroe had plastic surgery. Six X-rays have been uncovered, along with doctor’s notes, that show Monroe had plastic surgery and the results are scheduled to be auctioned off next month.

It appears as though Monroe turned to then legendary Hollywood surgeon Michael Gurdin, who wrote in his notes that a chin implant the actress got back in 1950 had begun to dissolve. Dr. Gurdin apparently gave the medical documents to unnamed seller who is now putting them for auction on Nov. 9 and 10.

Monroe began complaining about a chin deformity in 1958, which coincides with the doctor’s notes. X-rays also show she had Rhinoplasty. Both surgeries were performed on Monroe under the alias Joan Newman. However, it wasn’t until 1962 that Monroe turned to Gurdin after suffering a fall, then two months later she died at age 36.

The X-rays that were uncovered of Monroe’s face, nose and the roof of her mouth, as well as the doctor’s notes, are expected to sell anywhere between $15,000 and $30,000, says Julien’s Auction in Beverly Hills, the company that will be selling the items. However, other Monroe memorabilia has sold for much more and the X-rays may just top the charts.

But are these X-rays the real deal or just a fabrication by the doctor? Rumor has it that Gurdin, who died in 1993, had a “close relationship” to Julien’s Auction. So why are the X-rays up for sale now, 20 years later?

According to Martin Nolan, executive director of Julien’s, the seller had the items in storage for some time and just “recently” went through them. How could these items have been in hiding for so long? Was the seller just holding onto them so they would accrue value?

Perhaps they were waiting for the right time to unveil them? After all, back when it was Monroe’s time to shine, plastic surgery was kept under wraps for the most part. Now-a-days, it’s a lot more common for both woman AND men to go under the knife and most people are not ashamed to admit it.

But how do fans feel? Monroe fans who have looked up to the actress for what they thought was her “natural” beauty may now have a change of heart. The recent revelation of Monroe’s plastic surgery just goes to show that she was just a regular girl next door after all, just trying to look and feel her best.
