First Lady Michelle Obama has been revered for her lovely fashion sense, her amazing confidence, and for her incredibly toned physique – namely her toned arms! For years, women all over the country – and all over the world for that matter – have looked up to Mrs. Obama and have even turned to plastic surgery to get her same natural, stunning look with arm lift surgery.

But while (as far as we know), she hasn’t had any cosmetic treatments done, the First Lady recently admitted that she’s not opposed to undergoing plastic surgery or using cosmetic treatments like Botox in the future.

Mrs. Obama, who celebrates her 50th birthday today, doesn’t look a day over 30. She has certainly been blessed with fantastic genetics – or skin care products – but while she may be an au natural beauty, she recently spoke with People magazine to discuss her plastic surgery future. And her response may actually shock some individuals.

“Women should have the freedom to do whatever they need to do to feel good about themselves,” said the First Lady in an interview with People. “Right now, I don’t imagine that I would go that route, but I’ve also learned to never say never.”

Way to go Michelle Obama! We definitely praise her candor and realistic approach to surgery. So many celebrities deny they’ve had any work done, even in the face of blatantly different before and after pictures, but Mrs. Obama has no shame in admitting she is human and has made the decision to undergo plastic surgery an empowering one for women everywhere with her interview speech.

In her interview, Mrs. Obama also explains she is committed to living a healthy lifestyle, which is essential no matter what cosmetic procedure is done. She explains she has never missed a checkup, eats healthy (without being obsessed about calorie counting), and regularly exercises.

So what’s in store for her big 5-0 celebration? Why, nothing short of a spectacular bash, naturally. A lot of good food and a lot of dancing is what sources have revealed so far, and knowing the Obamas, it will likely be a celebration the likes of which few presidencies have seen before.

We wish Mrs. Obama a very happy birthday and many more to come!

Though she may look fantastic at 50, not everyone is as fortunate to look as good as Mrs. Obama. Plastic surgery is very popular among women aged 50 and older, especially treatments like Botox, which can smooth out wrinkles and fine lines that develop with age – and wisdom, of course!

Anyone who has considered getting cosmetic surgery can turn to our New York plastic surgeon, Dr. David Shafer, to discuss which procedures are best. Some may benefit from minimally invasive treatments like Botox or fillers, while others may benefit from a mini facelift or brow lift.
