At Shafer Plastic Surgery & Laser Center, we offer a wide variety of injectable treatments. Injectables are non-surgical treatments used to correct signs of aging. These treatments are extremely helpful for smoothing away age lines, removing wrinkles, restoring facial volume, and even reducing chin fat to take care of a double chin.

Dermal Fillers

One popular type of injectable is the dermal filler. Dermal fillers are mostly known for smoothing facial wrinkles that come about as a result of the aging process and environmental factors. Some fillers can also restore facial volume and plump the lips.

We administer dermal fillers like Juvederm, Restylane, Belotero, Sculptra, Radiesse, Voluma, Vollure, and Volbella. These fillers are FDA-approved and are used to address different aging-related concerns on the face.

Hyaluronic Acid Fillers: Juvederm, Restylane, and Belotero contain hyaluronic acid as the key filler material. Hyaluronic acid is a substance that is found naturally in the skin and joints. It helps to keep skin supple, hydrated, and plump. When injected in the skin, it can immediately expand the skin to smooth away wrinkles. Hyaluronic acid offers natural-looking results, and the effects can last for up to a year (more or less).

There are different Juvederm products available to treat various age-related concerns. Juvederm Voluma is specifically designed to restore cheek volume, eliminating the look of facial gauntness. Juvederm Vollure is made to correct deeper wrinkles like the nasolabial folds. Juvederm Volbella plumps and enhances the lips and also smoothes away age lines above the lips.

Restylane fills wrinkles and enhances the lips. Belotero is often used to treat age lines and is ideal for first-time users of dermal fillers.

Calcium Hydroxylapatite Fillers: Calcium hydroxylapatite is found in bones. When used as a filler material, it can boost collagen production and form a framework beneath the skin to add structure. Radiesse is made with calcium hydroxylapatite and is effective for correction of facial creases and lines. Its effects can last for up to a year.

Poly-L-Lactic Acid Filler: Sculptra is a poly-L-lactic acid filler and can help the skin with new collagen production over a period of time. Instead of being a true filler, it is considered to be a collagen stimulator. Rather than creating instant results, it creates results over time in the form of smooth, wrinkle-free skin. As a result, Sculptra’s effects last longer than those of many other fillers.

Neuromodulators

Neuromodulators are made with botulinum toxin and are used to treat wrinkles. Brands of neuromodulators that we offer include Botox, Xeomin and Dysport. These FDA-approved products contain botulinum toxin in different formulations and can be used to treat shallow wrinkles like crow’s feet, along with vertical neck bands.

These products are used to treat the wrinkles that form due to repeated facial movements such as those used to form facial expressions. They inhibit the nerve impulses that cause muscle movements, allowing the muscles to relax and the skin to sit flat and smooth.

Fat Reducers

You can use an injectable called Kybella to reduce fat deposits in the chin area. This product is made with deoxycholic acid, which naturally exists in the body. It can permanently destroy fat cells under the chin, getting rid of the look of a double chin with no surgery required.

Other Benefits

Along with fighting the signs of aging, injectables have a number of other benefits. Because injectables are non-surgical options, there will be no scalpels or incisions. As a result of this, there is no recovery period associated with injectables, so you’ll be able to return to your busy life as soon as possible.

Injectables are also safer and more cost-effective treatments compared to surgeries. You can repeat treatments as per your requirements.
