Chemical Peels New York City
During a chemical peel, a solution applied to the skin causes a chemical reaction that peels away the top layers of skin and stimulates regrowth of new, younger-looking skin.
The depth of a chemical peel and type of acid solution used are determined by Dr. Shafer and Master Esthetician Dex Phillip based on the extent of wrinkles and skin damage, and your goals and skin type.

Learn about the types of chemical peel.
Chemical peels are effective for the fine wrinkles around the mouth, cheeks, eyes and forehead. A partial peel may be combined with other facial treatments such as Botox or dermal fillers to enhance results. Skin peels also can be used to diminish brown skin discoloration, minor acne scars, oily, red or scaly skin, and pore size. Chemical peels do not treat large pores or serious acne scars.
